GCE is a character creation program for GURPS 3rd or 4th edition. It is essentially made for Transhuman Space but can be used with games which do not have specificities such as magic or psionics. If this program has some success, I will adapt the code to other games.
This is a Perl/Tk program, which means that it is completely portable. Whether you are using Linux, MS Windows or Mac, it should work on your machine, as long as you are ready to install Perl/Tk. The installation procedure for Perl/Tk is quite straightforward and explained in the download section. A standalone executable for MS Windows should come out soon...
These programs are guaranteed virus-free as long as you download them from this site -checking the md5sum is also a good idea.
Special thanks to Toffer, Roberto Hoyle from SJ Games and in particular to John, who have tested the program.
The data files are editable text, so you can add, modify, remove skills, advantages, etc.. If some keys are obscure, you know where to find me!
The character's height and weight are given in imperial AND metric units: just for that, this code is worthwhile!
I have a job, so it's free.
These programs are fully functional, though I have no doubt there still are bugs.
Please let me know what you think. It has been a LOT of work and I would like to have some feedback. If it has some success, I will develop it to support the features of other games (psi, spells...). I will continue developping G4CE, but not G3CE, although I will always fix bugs.

Note: a standalone executable for MS Windows should come out soon, but for the moment:
First, install Perl/Tk (Linux machines should already have it installed), then just unzip one of these zip files (they create their own directories) and run gce.pl:
